FEATURES

While we have a setup for any H-panel conversion, our products can be custom tailored for each application. For H-panel replacements, the following features are available:

  1. Governor control of your choice
    1. Some engines have governing built into the ECU (engine control unit). In these instances, our controller would simply interface with the ECU, just like the H-panel. As a result, our H-panel replacement would not need to ship with a separate governor, saving money on the purchase price.
    2. If a governor is required, analog governors are standard
    3. Digital governors are available.
    4. Simply specify the governor you would like installed and we’ll integrate it into your controller.

  2.  Voltage control of your choice. There are several types of alternators that usually come with a Generac H-panel, including PMG, brushless, Marathon, etc.
    1. Generac alternators will usually have F- grounded in several places. This can cause a problem for many voltage regulators, some of which will simply blow up immediately. By default, we use a Generac voltage regulator simply for compatibility. However,  if you prefer another voltage regulator, simply specify what you would like and we will integrate it. Just keep in mind that if the voltage regulator that you prefer requires that the field be completely floating, it will be your responsibility to remove all grounds.
    2. Marathon alternators (~400kW-600kW) should have a Marathon voltage regulator. Still, we will provide whatever you specify (provided it is safe and functional).

  3. Controller choice. By default, we use Dynagen controllers because of their reliability and price point. However, whether you would prefer something from ECU to Deep Sea or even a controller from Kohler, Onan or CAT, please know that we can accommodate your controller upgrade request.

  4. Additional inputs, outputs and interfaces are available, as required. By default, our upgrade includes two additional, unused inputs and outputs.

The caveat to upgrading components can be that, should optional component(s) requested be larger than the H-panel door will hold, some components may have to be remotely mounted. Another option is to simply layer components. Should this situation arise, we will at that time provide you with your options.
